The job market and economy are sharply down, but the number of people going to school is strong. This is especially true for working, single and stay at home moms. It’s important not to pass up educational opportunities like grants. They could be the first step to becoming part of a popular industry.
One obvious area of importance is the technology industry. So many of our daily tasks are made possible by digital, wireless and other technology. In 2009, President Obama introduced the Grants for Moms initiative. By making it easier to get as much as $5,000 for their education, the administration is trying to encourage eager women to go back to school or even to go for the first time. It’s an important step in helping moms earn the degrees they need.
The education grants for moms endorsed by President Obama are a small part of helping women take care of their families. Big universities as well as 2-year junior colleges can provide plenty of opportunity for education and career advancement.
